about our birds & farm
From the time the birds arrive at Prairie View Ringnecks, they are handled with utmost care through processes designed to keep them wary of humans. This will enable you to experience better flushing and flight from the birds in the field.
Also to facilitate better flight from the pheasants, the flight pens and netting are built taller than most other producers’. The protective cover inside the pens is meant to replicate as closely as possible Central South Dakota’s wild conditions which the birds will encounter--native grasses, weeds, milo, and Sudan grass.
Cody and Danielle, owners of Prairie View Ringnecks, have a passion for their community and appreciate the fact that they have been able to remain in a place where agriculture is its foundation and main source of economic activity.
Not only is Prairie View Ringnecks set up to accommodate landowners who offer pay-to-hunt privileges, but it is also prepared to provide roosters to full-time guides and outfitters.
The pheasant farm is conveniently located in Lyman County just south of Presho, South Dakota, so you no longer have to carve out four to six hours of your day for travel to pick up your roosters. Nor will you need to pay delivery fees for your birds—you can easily schedule time to come load your birds as you need them. You will no longer need to house them yourself because they are already being taken care of, and can be picked up daily as needed!
The facilities have been built for quick and efficient loading of pheasants. Whether a person needs twenty roosters or a thousand, those numbers can be accommodated. We do not require minimum orders. Prairie View Ringnecks provides the use of their crates for your transportation of them to your fields.
Overseeing a hunting operation means that your time is valuable, so Prairie View Ringnecks wants to make your pheasant pick-up go as smoothly, simply, and efficiently as possible.

Adult Flight Birds (rooster)
At Prairie View Ringnecks we provide you a selection of the finest birds around. All the roosters at our farm are vibrant in color with beautiful, long tail feathers. We give our roosters an ample space so they are ready to perform in the field and give your hunters the hunt of a lifetime.
The weight of our Ringnecks at maturity (22 weeks) is 2.7-3 lbs. for the cocks and 1.7-2.2 lbs. for the hens.
Because of Prairie View’s business model and increased demand for rooster pheasants, Cody does not provide hen pheasants or chicks.
